travel theme: colourful {a food story from New Orleans}

This past week I visited New Orleans for the first time and was pleasantly surprised by the charm, even Bourbon Street. I was there for work so I didn’t have a chance to do the proper site seeing thing, but I did make it to a local landmark for dinner – The Commander’s Palace.

Situated in the Garden district, you truly get that French charm feeling. Outside of eating beignets at Cafe DuMonde or Cafe Beignet, if you’re in New Orleans, make a reservation at The Commander’s Palace you’ll thank me later. Getting to this week’s travel theme, here is my colorful meal from The Commander’s Palace: autumn salad with Bartlett pears and heirloom apples, griddle seared gulf fish topped with chanterelle mushrooms and an autumn apple cobbler. So, delish!
